We’ve all read in the Bible or heard that “All Things Work Together For Good.” It sure sounds good, but it takes faith to believe this simple statement amidst the storm.
I think it takes more faith the first time around, but then, it takes gratitude. Gratitude to remember what has been done and how what happened has purified you and sculpted you into a better, wiser, happier person.
Here’s something I found that reminded me WHY, even though I’m on a mission to choose the company I keep wisely, infiltrations occur from time to time and WHY be THANKFUL:
To those of you who have pushed me -
thank you.
Without you I wouldn’t have fallen.
To those of you who laughed at me -
thank you.
Without you I wouldn’t have cried.
To those who spoke ill of me and wished the worst for me-
thank you
Without you I wouldn’t have worked so hard to prove you wrong
To those of you who just couldn’t love me -
thank you.
Without you I wouldn’t have been determined to seek and find real love.
To those of you who hurt my feelings -
thank you.
Without you I wouldn’t have felt them.
To those of you who left me lonely -
thank you.
Without you I wouldn’t have discovered myself.
But it is to those of you who thought I couldn’t do it
It is you I thank the most
Because without you I wouldn’t have tried!
Just like the tin man in the Wizard of Oz, we’ve always had a heart, but it takes those people to come into your life to show you have it and how big it is and to compel you to use it. It all works for good…it’s true!
